WIP 4/6/17 Woodland Themed Afghan – Fish Applique

Not much done this week, again, on my woodland afghan. My daughter was off on Spring Break last week and this week she has been sick with tonsillitis. I did manage to get a few more solid blocks made and I finished another of my own appliques! A fish! Here is my pattern:

With ½ yard of Black & 1 yard of White: Start with black yarn, ch 2, sl st into 2nd chain from hook, change to white yarn, slip stitch around and join to first slip stitch. Fasten off, leave long tail and attach eye to fish.

Now attach your fish to your granny square (7″x7″ is perfect) using the long tails from the body and tail fin. I did not sew the four fins down so as to give it a little 3-D effect.
