WIP 06/10/17 Woodland Themed Afghan – Mouse Applique

Here is one of the “redo’s” I’ve been mulling over doing for my afghan. My first mouse applique kinda more resembled a plain ol’ rat (nothing against rats, I had them as pets!) but he just wasn’t ‘doing it’ for me. Here’s the old one.

I love this new little guy… lots cuter (for a rodent 🙂 ) and a little more detailed. Here’s the new one!

(Whiskers not attached yet in this photo)

Using yarn tail from body, attach mouse to granny square. I did not sew down the ears or pink part of nose.

Using pink yarn tail from where tail attaches to body, sew tail to granny square. End your yarn tail in the same place as other pink yarn tail. Take needle off yarn and loosely knot these too tail ends about 8 times or so. On your last knot, make it fairly tight. Weave ends back into tail. This little portion of the tail will not be fastened down.
